The Chicago Bears have done an outstanding job avoiding HBO's "Hard Knocks" like the plague despite the program airing on television for more than 20 years now. They're one of 10 teams that have never partaken. Most franchises find it unnecessarily intrusive. Bears chairman George McCaskey prefers to keep the cameras away, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. The revised formula indicates the Bears could soon make an appearance, however.

An amendment to the selection process means the NFL can now force a team to partake if another franchise doesn't volunteer. Perhaps even more notably, the in-season version of "Hard Knocks" will now feature an entire division as opposed to one single team. Even if the Bears aren't selected for the single-team version during training camp, the NFC North could eventually be featured for the increasingly popular in-season version of the program.

The Bears are expected to have a new franchise quarterback in Caleb Williams. The franchise is also coming closer to allegedly breaking ground on a brand new publicly-owned lakefront domed stadium in Chicago near the current location of Soldier Field. Williams' eventual presence, paired with the ins and outs of building a new stadium, make for two potentially juicy storylines that may invite HBO's camera crew.

Bears fans should prepare to see their team on Hard Knocks sooner rather than later.
