The Chicago Bears have spent the last few weeks meeting with a slew of prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. From the NFL Combine to the all-star game circuit, there have been five-plus pre-draft events over the past month that allowed Bears scouts to meet with prospects one-on-one. Texas Tech cornerback Rayshad Williams garnered interest from the Bears through a face-to-face meeting at the Hula Bowl, Williams told The Draft Network.

Williams is a big-bodied 6-3, 215 pound cornerback. NFL scouts believed Williams may switch positions to safety at the next level, but were ultimately impressed with his showing at corner at the Hula Bowl. At worst, Williams' versatility would be appreciated. The Memphis, Tennessee native recorded 94 career tackles and 24 pass breakups at Texas Tech.

The Bears are well-stocked at cornerback at the top of their roster. General manager Ryan Poles re-signed cornerback Jaylon Johnson to a four-year extension earlier this week after initially placing the franchise tag on him. Tyrique Stevenson and Kyler Gordon help fill out an impressive top three at the position. Poles could be searching for depth behind his starters.

Williams will participate in the inaugural Big 12 Pro Day later this month. Sources confirmed the Bears plan to attend. They'll receive another opportunity to assess Williams' potential.
