The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is underway, with player arrivals beginning Sunday and on-field workouts kicking off on Thursday, February 29.
For the Chicago Bears, the NFL Combine represents the first real opportunity for general manager Ryan Poles to structure the parameters of a Justin Fields trade (or a trade for the first overall pick) as well as interview and meet with prospects who will contend for the No. 1 pick (namely Caleb Williams) and the No. 9 pick in Round 1.
There will be a lot of buzz coming out of Indianapolis over the next week, and we'll have you covered here on Bears Talk.

Which days matter most for the Chicago Bears?
Since the NFL Combine is held before free agency, it's fair to identify all of the team's current weaknesses as positions Bears fans should monitor. At this point, each day of the Scouting Combine will be relevant to Chicago.
Obviously, all eyes will be on Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and the quarterbacks on March 2, but pay attention to the running backs and wide receivers who will work out that day, too. Defensive backs (including safeties) will work out on March 1, and with the Bears looking for Eddie Jackson's replacement, they'll keep a close eye on how this year's draft prospects perform. The edge rushers will work out on February 29; there's a chance Chicago's pick at No. 9 overall is in that group. Finally, centers will work out on March 3. It's an obvious need.
When are the Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus podium sessions?
Ryan Poles both have their podium sessions on Tuesday, February 27. Poles' will be at 9:15 a.m. CT. Eberflus will speak at 11:30 a.m.
When will Caleb Williams and Drake Maye speak with the media?
Both Caleb Williams and Drake Maye will speak with the media on Friday, March 1. Maye will speak at 7:40 a.m. CT. Williams will speak at 8 a.m.
