The Chicago Bears improved their record to 6-9 after defeating the Arizona Cardinals 27-16 at Soldier Field on Christmas Eve.
The victory is significant for a few reasons. First, it was the fourth-straight win for the Bears at home after nearly a year without a Soldier Field victory. Second, Chicago's win total represents twice as many as they had in 2022. If that's not a sign of progress, I'm not sure what is. And when you consider the three games the Chicago Bears should've won (they squandered double-digit fourth-quarter leads three times this year), the Bears would be a nine-win playoff team in the hunt for an NFC North crown.
You are what your record says you are, however, and an under .500 season will still spark questions about the future of head coach Matt Eberflus and quarterback Justin Fields when the offseason kicks off.
They both met with the media after Sunday's win and offered their perspective on the win. They also gave Chicago Bears fans a glimpse at why there's a good case for both of them to be back next year.
