The 53-man roster deadline has come and gone, and the Chicago Bears have their team set for the 2023 season.
General manager Ryan Poles made a handful of moves a day early, including a trade for offensive lineman Dan Feeney and the release of prominent veterans like PJ Walker and Alex Leatherwood. But the majority of the cuts came with the full roster announcement Tuesday afternoon.

As expected, the team kept plenty of depth on the offensive line with Teven Jenkins battling an injury.
The depth chart is expected to still change between now and Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. Poles has to decide whether to place Jenkins on short-term injured reserve to free up a roster spot for a minimum of four weeks, but he had to stick on the initial 53 in order to be eligible for the designation.
Either way, the Bears are likely to claim at least a few players off of waivers from other teams, which means Chicago will have to make corresponding cuts of guys who thought they made the team.
