Caleb Williams proving to be more than just an elite physical talent at Bears training camp (News)

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Caleb Williams will begin his Chicago Bears career as one of the five most physically gifted quarterbacks in the NFL in Week 1. No one doubts that. He's a rare player who was dubbed a generational quarterback prospect ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

But what some draft analysts did doubt was whether he'd be able to take command of an NFL locker room and become the leader of a team. The 'diva' label was unfairly applied to Williams throughout Draft season but has quickly been dispelled since his arrival in Chicago.

Caleb Williams is garnering praise and respect from his veteran teammates and is even proving to be that guy who steps in to calm a potentially volatile situation.

In Friday's training camp practice, the first in pads, tight end Gerald Everett and defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker got into a scuffle, and it was Williams who stepped up and shut it down.

This is a significant act by Caleb Williams. He proved to his team that he will step in and step up for his teammates while at the same time making sure the concept of 'team' triumphs over a heated rep. In other words, he's a leader.

He's also one hell of a football thrower:

The first day of padded practices for the Chicago Bears is in the books, and it was a good day for Caleb Williams and the future of the organization. He continues to check every box, and on Friday, he proved his leadership is just another strength on his glowing scouting report.
