The 2024 NFL Draft will be here before you know it. We'll have every angle of the offseason's most important event covered here on Bears Talk, including the 2024 Senior Bowl, where I'll have boots on the ground to get an up-close look at this year's top prospect from a Chicago Bears perspective.
The Bears won't have any shortage of quality prospects to choose from this year. The 2024 draft will feature two franchise-caliber quarterbacks in USC's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye. Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. is considered the best wide receiver to enter the NFL in several years, while Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is a rare prospect at his position who could sneak into the top 10 picks.
Several of this year's top prospects would make sense for Chicago, who will begin the 2024 NFL draft process as the most powerful team in the NFL.
Should the Bears trade Justin Fields and roll with one of the top quarterback prospects? Should they keep Fields and trade the No. 1 pick for a king's ransom as they inch closer to being a playoff team? Time will tell.
Here's everything you need to know about the 2024 NFL Draft. This post will be updated regularly, so make sure you have it bookmarked.\
When is the 2024 NFL Draft?
The 2024 NFL Draft begins with the first round on April 25. The second and third rounds will be held on April 26. Rounds four through seven will take place on April 27.
Where is the 2024 NFL Draft being held?
The 2024 NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan.
What picks do the Chicago Bears have in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft?
The Chicago Bears have two picks in the first round. They have the No. 1 overall pick (via the Carolina Panthers) and the No. 9 pick (their own).
What are the Bears' biggest draft needs?
It depends on who you ask, but if I had to rank the Chicago Bears' 2024 draft needs right now (remember: this is subject to change after free agency), it would go something like:
1. Edge rusher
2. Center
3. Wide Receiver
4. Safety
As for the quarterback, I have a higher grade on Caleb Williams than I did on Justin Fields as a draft prospect. However, the Bears can win games with Fields, and if they sign a few impact starters in free agency and receive an offer for the No. 1 pick that's too good to refuse, I have no problem with Fields returning as the Bears' starting quarterback.
