The Chicago Bears are in the process of trimming the roster from 85 to 80 players by Tuesday's 4 p.m. EST deadline, and one of the first 'big' names to receive his walking papers has been announced: wide receiver Dazz Newsome.
The #Bears are waiving WR Dazz Newsome, per source. Speedy sixth-round pick last year now headed for a fresh start.

Dazz Newsome was a sixth-round pick of the 2021 NFL Draft and represents another failed selection by former general manager Ryan Pace. A standout at North Carolina, Newsome appeared in just three games as a rookie and totaled two catches for 23 yards.
There was some buzz around Newsome during training camp, and his odds to make the final roster appeared strong considering how weak the Chicago Bears' wide receivers are. But a poor performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Chicago's Week 2 preseason game sealed his fate.
