Here's who Bears fans blame for Week 3's loss to Chiefs (2023 Season)

The Chicago Bears are 0-3. They haven't won a game since last October, and even with a Week 4 matchup on deck against a Denver Broncos team that surrendered 70 points to the Miami Dolphins, there's little confidence that Chicago will get into the win column anytime soon.

There's plenty of blame to go around for the Bears' terrible start to the 2023 season. The offense and defense have been equally bad. The coaching has been worse.

Justin Fields hasn't developed as fans had hoped, and DJ Moore has been a non-factor. Khalil Herbert is struggling to replace David Montgomery, and none of the free agency and NFL draft investments made on defense have moved the needle.

The 2023 Bears are worse than the 2022 Bears after three games, and the 2022 Bears ended that season with the first overall pick.

Yeah, it's bad.

But who do Bears fans blame for Week 3's 41-10 loss to the Chiefs?

That's what I asked on Twitter, or 'X,' and the results were sort of surprising.

A large majority of Bears fans blame Eberflus.

There's been so much negative press around Justin Fields this season that I assumed Bears fans would jump on the chance to blame him for the team's struggles. Instead, they acknowledge that Chicago's problems run deeper than the quarterback play.

Fields received the fewest votes in the poll.

Yes, Fields is struggling. Bears fans would love to see him rise above the coaching staff's incompetence and make plays. It isn't happening right now, but fans remain somewhat patient, hoping he will have a breakout moment this year.

If he doesn't, things could be worse. The Bears could be a team that doesn't have its first-round pick. Instead, they have theirs, and it could end up being the No. 1 overall selection in a 2024 NFL Draft that will have talented first-round quarterbacks. They also have the Carolina Panthers first-rounder, which is also trending as a top-five choice.

Matt Eberflus is on the hot seat. He's lost the fans' trust, and there's no doubt he's losing the front office too.

The Chicago Bears don't fire coaches during the season, which seems like a wise business practice. But there's a first time for everything, especially if Eberflus doesn't right the Bears' ship soon.
