Here's how many yards Justin Fields is on pace for in 2022 (2022 Season)

The Chicago Bears have never had a 4,000-yard passer in franchise history. And barring a historic production rate over the final nine games of the 2022 season, they won't have one this year either.

Second-year quarterback Justin Fields is trending upward over the last couple of weeks, but his slow start to the season has his projected end-of-year passing totals lower than fans hoped for when 2022 kicked off. Fields is currently tracking to pass for only 2,547 yards and 15 touchdowns. Not great.

There is some good news for Fields' box score, however. He's been dominant as a runner and is on pace to finish with 901 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He currently trails only Lamar Jackson for the rushing crown among quarterbacks.

While Justin Fields hasn't lit up the scoreboard as a passer in 2022, there's plenty of production to get excited about, especially over the last four games. Fields is passing at a rate that would eclipse 3,000 yards over 17 games, and as he gets more comfortable in Luke Getsy's offense, there's no reason to think his passing yardage won't go up.

So, yeah, Bears fans have to wait another year for a 4,000-yard passer. But it's beginning to feel like Fields will be the guy who can finally get it done in Chicago. Just not in 2022.
