Week 4 Fantasy Football Lineups: These 4 players are must-starts
Fantasy Football Week 4 Lineup Advice: These four players should be in your starting lineups this week in daily and season-long leagues.
The third time’s a charm for my fantasy football column.
If you’ve been following these weekly posts, the already wacky NFL season has thrown us into a frenzy with bizarre player stats in just the first few weeks. However, my Week 3 selections didn’t disappoint. While I was hopeful for a Stefon Diggs score and TJ Hockenson almost picking up a touchdown after several red zone targets as the Vikings and Chargers battled down to the final seconds, all four of my Week 3 picks delivered and could have bolstered your league lineups or daily Fantasy play.
Let’s try to repeat a strong 4-for-4 in Week 4.
It’s still an early season, but it’s a wild one. While some of these picks are confident selections, let’s take risks on some potential Week 4 breakout performances while we’re at it.
QB: Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) vs. BUF
Let’s start with an obvious choice at quarterback.
The Miami Dolphins dominated the Denver Broncos in Week 3. Destroyed them. Zero mercy. The team tallied over 700 yards of offense, led by a confident Tua, who notched four touchdowns and 309 passing yards.
Mike McDaniel is delivering a historic coaching performance (if only he were leading the Bears), generating consistent lights-out quarterback play from Tua. This offense is borderline unstoppable.
In one of the most exciting matchups of Week 4, the Dolphins will visit the Buffalo Bills. I have zero concern over Buffalo’s defense. It will be a tougher matchup, but it won’t matter. Tua will continue to spread the ball around and be a Fantasy monster.
Dare I say that Miami could be the No. 1 seed in the AFC? Tua for MVP? They’re putting the league on notice.
RB: Kenneth Walker III (SEA) vs. NYG
Walker turned heads when he sealed his Week 3 stat line after the Seattle Seahawks topped the Carolina Panthers 37-27. He logged almost 100 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and even caught a few passes out of the backfield from Geno Smith.
That’s now two weeks in a row that Walker has scored two touchdowns. He’s become a force in this Seahawks offense — and it isn’t going to stop in Week 4.
The Seahawks visit a shaky Giants team on Monday Night Football. I could easily see Kenneth Walker notching at least another score in this one.
WR: Keenan Allen (LAC) vs. LV
Mike Williams is out for the rest of the season after tearing his ACL in Week 3. The Chargers will look to stack wins (after getting their first in Week 3), and Keenan Allen will be the key to that success.
Aside from his Week 2 outing, Allen’s numbers haven’t been phenomenal so far this year. But with Williams out, Allen will be the prime target for Justin Herbert and a workhorse for this Chargers offense.
While there are certainly more reliable targets out there in Fantasy play, Allen may be available for an affordable rate in daily play and is a must-start in regular leagues based on the potential for targets alone.
TE: Sam LaPorta (DET) vs. GB (‘Under the Radar’ Selection of the Week)
Once again, we’re in the shakiest Fantasy position — and here’s where we find our “Under the Radar” selection of the week.
LaPorta had a good outing in the Lions’ Week 3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He tallied eight receptions for 84 yards and a score. It was, by far, LaPorta’s most impressive game of the 2023 season so far. And while there are certainly other tight ends that are automatic locks, LaPorta is gaining the trust of Goff in a sneaky Lions offense.
I don’t think Week 3 was a “one and done” game for LaPorta’s stats. The Lions take a trip to Lambeau Field for a Thursday Night battle. Expect LaPorta to make some noise in this divisional matchup.
