Top offensive tackle prospect Paris Johnson Jr. wants to play for Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are still a preferred destination for some of the top young talent in football, including 2023 NFL Draft prospect Paris Johnson Jr.

Ohio State offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. listed the Bears as one of the top three teams he’d like to play for in the NFL during a recent interview on the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast.

“I would say realistically, who needs a tackle, I would say Chicago,” Johnson said. “I would also say the Falcons, to be in Atlanta, too, that would be huge.”

The star lineman also named the Tennessee Titans a favorite, largely due to the lack of state income taxes.

Paris Johnson Jr. is often paired with the Chicago Bears in 2023 NFL mock drafts due to the team’s significant need at his position and his connection to Justin Fields due to their brief time together in college.

In his podcast interview, Johnson also said he would be willing to play guard in the NFL if a team asked him to do so. He was a first-team All-Big Ten left tackle in 2022 but started at right guard in 2021 for the Buckeyes.

In Chicago, he could easily fill the hole at right tackle as a day 1 starter, or the team could keep him at left tackle and move Braxton Jones to the right side.

No matter where they would put him, it sounds like he’d be happy to be there.
