UPDATE: 12:21 p.m. CST
The curious case of Chicago Bears offensive lineman Teven Jenkins is getting… weird. Jenkins missed Thursday’s training camp practice for unknown reasons. On Friday, he was nowhere to be seen again.
Jenkins battled a back injury this time last year. He missed all of training camp his rookie season and played in just six games (two starts) in 2021. The former second-round pick from Oklahoma State was viewed as a steal during the 2021 NFL Draft, but his career hasn’t gotten off to the best start.
Teven Jenkins bounced between starter and reserve roles during offseason minicamp workouts and his outlook as a starter in 2022 is murky, at best. He began training camp with the second team before his back-to-back absences.
We’ll update Jenkins’ situation as soon as information becomes available.
