NFL power rankings are common this time of year. The first wave of free agency is over, and there’s a lull of activity before the 2023 NFL Draft. Rosters like the Chicago Bears are beginning to crystallize, and team identities are taking shape.
The Bears have been active and aggressive in upgrading both sides of the ball in free agency. DJ Moore transforms the team’s wide receivers, and Tremaine Edmunds brings the most upside at inside linebacker since Brian Urlacher.
But with a roster with so many needs, one offseason of activity may not be enough. It certainly isn’t enough for NFL analysts charged with creating NFL Power Rankings, as evidenced by ESPN’s latest iteration of the league-wide ranking.
