Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert was on a path to stardom during his rookie season in 2021. He ran for nearly 375 yards during a four-game stretch in October while filling in for an injured David Montgomery. Once Montgomery returned, Herbert retreated to the shadows of Matt Nagy’s depth chart.
That should change in 2022. Herbert won’t unseat Montgomery as the starter, but his skill set fits offensive coordinator Luke Getsy’s system like a glove. He’ll get his touches, and as we saw last year, he’ll make the most of them.
