The Chicago Bears 2023 offseason is moving quickly through the calendar. Free agency, the NFL Draft, and rookie minicamps are over, but several key dates remain this spring and early summer.
Bears OTA practices kick off on May 22. A total of 10 sessions will be held:
May: 22, 23, 25, 30
June: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8
The Bears will hold a mandatory full-squad minicamp from June 13-15 before breaking for training camp, which will take place sometime in late July. Chicago Bears training camp will be at Halas Hall once again.
Many new faces will be on the practice field this spring and summer. The wide receiver room has been remade with the trade for DJ Moore, a full offseason with Chase Claypool, and rookie Tyler Scott. The offensive line is expected to have two new starters in Nate Davis (right guard) and first-round pick Darnell Wright (right tackle). Running backs D’Onta Foreman and rookie Roschon Johnson will compete for carries with incumbent Khalil Herbert.
The defense will feature a new-look linebacker corps led by Tremaine Edmunds and TJ Edwards. The defensive line added DeMarcus Walker and Andrew Billings in free agency. Gervon Dexter Sr., Zacch Pickens, and Travis Bell were selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Rookie cornerback Tyrique Stevenson should earn starter’s reps.
It’s been an exciting offseason for the Chicago Bears so far. That excitement will level up once these new players hit the practice field and kick off the preseason.
