The Chicago Bears added former Tennessee Titans defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker on the first day of 2023 free agency Monday, and on Tuesday, we got a full breakdown of the terms of his deal.
Walker signed a three-year contract with over $15 million in guaranteed money.
Walker will be a chess piece for the Chicago Bears’ defensive line, sliding from edge to, potentially, the all-important three-technique on passing downs. He had a career-high seven sacks in 2022 despite only starting six games.
DeMarcus Walker will get a chance to earn more playing time than the 492 snaps he played last year. By comparison, Justin Jones played 833 snaps for the Bears in 2022.
The Chicago Bears are expected to add more help for the defensive line as 2023 free agency continues.
