Bears’ DBs earn high marks for stellar Week 4 performance
After a dominant showing in Week 4, a pair of Chicago Bears defensive backs earned impressive grades from Pro Football Focus.
The Chicago Bears took home a huge road win Sunday over the Las Vegas Raiders, thanks in large part to some fantastic play from their defensive backfield.
While it was a blocked field goal that finished things off for the Bears to get them back to .500 on the season, they got there because of a trio of takeaways from the secondary, as they kept Raiders quarterback Geno Smith in a blender all afternoon.
Bears safety Kevin Byard III and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson in particular earned high grades from Pro Football Focus for their respective Week 4 performances:
A former All-Pro, Byard continues to prove that he’s one of the league’s best at taking the ball away on the back end, while Stevenson came up huge for a Bears defense that has been missing multiple other starters at the cornerback position to start the season.
If this unit can continue to perform at this level, the Bears will keep giving opposing quarterbacks fits, putting the team in position for more critical wins the rest of the way in 2025.
