Chicago Bears

David Montgomery ACTIVE for Week 5 vs. Vikings

The Chicago Bears will get starting running back David Montgomery back for Week 5’s tilt against the Minnesota Vikings. Montgomery suffered what appeared to be a serious knee/ankle injury in Week 3’s win over the Houston Texans and missed last Sunday’s loss t the New York Giants.

The injury looked like it would keep Montgomery out of the lineup for several weeks. Instead, the Bears’ bell cow missed just one game.

Montgomery has 35 carries for 159 yards (4.5 ypc) and 1 TD on the season. Second-year back Khalil Herbert will continue his role as an important piece of Chicago’s offense, and there’s a chance he’ll lead the team in carries Sunday against the Vikings. It will be interesting to see how the workload is split between the two talented ball carriers from here on out.

Kickoff between the Bears and Vikings is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
