Jaquan Brisker

Bears will be without their top two rookies vs. Jets in Week 12

Justin Fields isn’t the only significant injury the Chicago Bears are dealing with in Week 12 against the New York Jets. A pair of rookie starters, cornerback Kyler Gordon and safety Jaquan Brisker, will miss the game with concussions.

Fields is a game-time decision with a left shoulder injury.

Brisker’s void in the secondary will likely be filled by veteran DeAndre Houston-Carson, who played well when given a chance as a starter in 2021. He looked prime to begin the 2022 season as the favorite to start opposite Eddie Jackson before the Bears spent a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft on Brisker.

Gordon’s absence will be more challenging to fill. Rookies Jaylon Jones and Lamar Jackson will see increased reps against a Jets offense that’s turned to Mike White at quarterback.

Right guard Teven Jenkins (hip) appears ready to return to the starting lineup. He’s been removed from the injury report.

The Bears vs. Jets Week 12 game is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m. EST from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
