Jenkins has battled injuries throughout his Bears career, including his rookie season when a bad back limited him to just six games and two starts. His 2022 season got off to a rocky start with Chicago's new regime. He was subject to trade talks and missed several training camp practices with mysterious ailments.
The 2021 second-round pick earned coach Matt Eberflus' trust as time marched on and he emerged as a critical starter for the Bears in 2022. He's making a change from right guard to left guard this season after Chicago signed Nate Davis in free agency, but by all accounts, he's having little trouble making the switch.
The Chicago Bears have depth along the interior offensive line, with Lucas Patrick the most likely candidate to replace either of the starting guards in the lineup. With Davis already out of practice Wednesday, Alex Leatherwood filled in for Jenkins.
