Bears begin Packers week with an extensive injury report

The Chicago Bears kicked off rivalry week with the Green Bay Packers with their longest and most extensive injury report of the 2022 season.

Check it out:

The most notable injury update is at quarterback, where Justin Fields was limited once again. He’s likely to be a game-time decision.

Cornerback Kyler Gordon and safety Jaquan Brisker both missed practice with concussions. They were inactive in Week 12 after failing to clear the concussion protocol before kickoff.

Right tackles Riley Reiff and Larry Borom missed practice too. Borom is dealing with an ankle/knee issue, while Reiff’s injury was listed as a back problem. On Wednesday, Bears coach Matt Eberflus left open the idea of Alex Leatherwood getting reps this week if neither Borom nor Reiff could suit up. The Bears have to see what they have in Leatherwood at some point this season; perhaps it’ll be against Green Bay.

It’s still very early in the week. Several players who didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice — or were limited — will heal up by Friday and be fine for Sunday’s game. At least, they should be. If not, the already heavily favored Packers will be even bigger favorites this weekend.
