The Chicago Bears had a relatively clean injury report Wednesday, with only two players either listed as limited or not participating. Unfortunately, one of them, rookie wide receiver Velus Jones Jr., is a critical piece of what the Bears want to do on offense this season.
Jones Jr. was held out of practice with a hamstring injury, which is always worrisome for a player who puts so much stress on his legs with explosive burst and long speed.
Still, the Bears will gladly take an injury report like this. It’s good news that offensive lineman Lucas Patrick, who’s slated to start at center, was full go at practice.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a potentially huge injury of their own. Tight end George Kittle missed practice Wednesday with a groin injury that could put his availability for Sunday’s opener at risk.
We’ll have updated Bears vs. 49ers injury news as the week progresses.
The Chicago Bears are scheduled to kick off their game against the San Francisco 49ers at 1 p.m. EST (12 p.m. CST) from Soldier Field on Sunday, Sept. 11. The game will be televised on FOX. Click here for all the ways to watch, listen to, and stream the Bears’ opener.
