Roschon Johnson already making positive impression on Bears coaches (2023 Season)

So much for Roschon Johnson being fifth on the Chicago Bears’ first unofficial depth chart of the preseason.

Perhaps it was a typo. It must’ve been. The Bears acted quickly to remedy it, publishing an updated/revised depth chart moments after the original was released.

Check it out:

Instead of appearing fifth, Johnson is now third behind Khalil Herbert and D’Onta Foreman.

Johnson should get an extended run in the Chicago Bears’ first preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, Aug. 12. If he impresses, he could soon leapfrog Foreman into a more prominent role as one of the Bears’ top two running backs.

Another notable change is Chase Claypool going from the second team to a first-teamer. As I noted in the initial post about the depth chart, Claypool is a starter, even if the first depth chart didn’t have room for him to appear as one.

Kudos to the Chicago Bears for making that change. Claypool has earned a starting job in training camp and will be one of the most important players on offense this season.
