The Chicago Bears have a new QB3 after signing veteran Nathan Peterman to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Peterman joins a Bears quarterback room with Justin Fields and Trevor Siemian.
A one-time darling of Draft Twitter, Peterman was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He made four starts over two seasons with the Bills before latching on with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020. He attempted only five passes in the silver and black.
In a corresponding move, the Bears released quarterback Ryan Willis.
It’s worth noting Chicago worked out wide receiver Dante Pettis on Wednesday. He’s regressed since his impressive rookie season in 2018, but with so many questions facing the Bears at wide receiver, he’s a name worth monitoring.
