Bears RB Roschon Johnson is still in NFL's concussion protocol (2023 Season)

I'm beginning to get concerned about Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson.

Johnson suffered a concussion in Week 5's win over the Washington Commanders and has been in the NFL's concussion protocol for nearly two weeks (the Commanders game was on a Thursday night). On Wednesday, coach Matt Eberflus told reporters that Johnson still hasn't been cleared, putting his status for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders in doubt.

He didn't practice Wednesday.

The Chicago Bears are a mash unit right now. Justin Fields is unlikely to play in Week 7 because of his dislocated thumb, which, by the way, I have a sneaky suspicion isn't getting better anytime soon. Guard Nate Davis didn't practice Wednesday as he recovers from an ankle injury, and rookie cornerback Terrell Smith will miss the next several games with Mono.

Roschon Johnson injury report

I hoped we'd get a big dose of Roschon Johnson during this four-week stretch that Khalil Herbert is on injured reserve. It would've been a perfect audition for him, and perhaps it still can be if he clears the protocol tomorrow or later in the week.

For now, it appears veteran D'Onta Foreman will be the feature back against a vulnerable Raiders defense that ranks 21st in rushing yards allowed per game and yards per carry allowed.
