Chicago Bears trade

Adam Schefter breaks down Chicago Bears’ decision to trade No. 1 pick to Carolina Panthers

The Chicago Bears did what just about everyone in NFL media thought they’d do when they traded the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers for a slew of picks, including the No. 9 overall in 2023 and a 2024 first-round pick. The Bears also received a 2023 second-round pick and a second-rounder in 2025.

But the biggest ‘get’ from the trade, at least for the 2023 season, is wide receiver D.J. Moore, who immediately becomes the Bears’ most explosive offensive weapon and the go-to-guy for quarterback Justin Fields.

NFL insider Adam Schefter spoke with ESPN 1000’s Peggy Kusinski and Dionne Miller Saturday and provided insight on the deal that could be the most important trade in modern Chicago Bears history.
