Bears connected to Micah Parsons in latest hypothetical trade pitch
Stop me if you’ve heard this before: The Chicago Bears were connected to Micah Parsons in a hypothetical trade pitch now that the superstar Dallas Cowboys edge rusher has stated he wants out of Big D.
The latest projection comes from Bears on SI’s Matthew Schmidt, who thinks general manager Ryan Poles could pry Parsons away from the Cowboys and new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus for one first-round pick and some add-ons.
Schmidt relied on the suggestion that Myles Garrett, who at one time wanted out of Cleveland when the Browns refused to pay him, would only net one first-rounder when his name was floated in trade speculation.

“So yes: It is possible for Chicago to pry Parsons away from Dallas for just one first-round pick and other assets,” Schmidt wrote. “Austin Booker would almost certainly have to be included, the Bears’ 2024 fifth-round selection who is widely viewed as a potential breakout candidate. So perhaps something like Booker, a first-rounder, a second-rounder and a Day 3 pick in 2027 could be enough to at least catch the Cowboys’ attention.”
I’m not sure Booker would move the needle in any Micah Parsons trade negotiations, and I don’t think there’s any chance the Cowboys would part ways with the perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate — who’s only 26 years old — for anything less than two first-round picks.
And that might not even be enough.
While I appreciate the hope and wishful thinking that’s inherently part of any Micah Parsons trade predictions, reality will paint a very different picture for any team that’s interested in acquiring him.
Parsons is off to a Hall of Fame start to his career with 52.5 sacks over his first four seasons.
