2023 NFL Draft: Updated list of prospects the Bears have had top 30 visits with

The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and the Chicago Bears have been busy meeting with many of the top prospects ahead of draft weekend.

One of the most valuable steps in the pre-draft process is the top 30 visits. NFL teams can invite up to 30 non-local prospects to the facility for additional interviews and one-on-one time. Those meetings often serve as a tie-breaker (for better or worse) between similarly graded prospects.

Here are the players who’ve visited Halas Hall over the last few weeks.

Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia

Perez’s Take: Carter has long been a match for the Chicago Bears in the first round. He represents the perfect value meeting need selection. If his background checks out, and he slides to the ninth pick, it’s hard to imagine the Bears not taking him.

Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

Perez’s Take: The Bears’ trade for WR DJ Moore has most NFL analysts assuming Chicago won’t select Smith-Njigba in the first round, but if Ryan Poles has a “blue” grade on him, he’ll join the revamped Bears’ wide receivers room.

Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State

Perez’s Take: If you’ve been following Bears Talk long enough, you know Johnson is my top choice for the Bears at No. 9. He’d be the most talented offensive tackle on the roster the moment his name is called, and he’d pair with Braxton Jones to set Chicago up with a fantastic young tandem at tackle.

Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia

Tyrique Stevenson, CB, Miami

Jaelyn Duncan, OT, Maryland

Payne Durham, TE, Purdue

Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee

Perez’s Take: If you want the Chicago Bears to target a traditional right tackle, Wright is your guy. He isn’t a top-10 prospect, but if Poles trades down with a team in the mid-teens, Wright would make a ton of sense. He’s athletic enough to hang in pass protection and he’s a mauler in the run game.

Deslin Alexandre, DL, Pitt

Ricky Stromberg, C, Arkansas

Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Virginia

Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss

Perez’s Take: Mingo is grossly underrated right now. I think there will be a lot of draft analysts surprised by how high he gets picked later this month. Mingo’s blend of size, speed, and after-the-catch ability projects as a bonafide WR1 in the NFL. He’d be a great pick for the Chicago Bears on Day 2.

Tyler Scott, WR, Cincinnati

Dylan Horton, DE, TCU

Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA

Perez’s Take: Charbonnet isn’t my favorite running back in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he does have traits consistent with an early-down power back on the next level. I’m not sure where he’d fit in the pecking order with Chicago Bears RBs Khalil Herbert and D’Onta Foreman, but as a Day-3 selection, he could be a pick that pays dividends in 2024 and beyond.

Gervon Dexter Sr., DL, Florida

Jordan McFadden, OT, Clemson
